6 days post hysterectomy: Emotional , tired...blah

Vaginal hysterectomy on 3/17. Left the ovaries.
I have been home since 3/20. Today though 3/23 was up in a chair too long I think, plus seems being home alone, no,one thinks I need to eat! Thankfully had snacks, but am starving.
I feel like crying!
, I am not one to usually sit and be waited in and a very independent person. Dh seems to have this attitude....he is tired I know and I am just at the beginning.i don't know if it is just everything adding up, it is already old or what. I have a slight headache and have been laying in bed a bit.
Sigh.......just feeling blah! We don't have family here, friends yes, but they all have their things. I live overseas so in times like this I prefer expat friends really.loge my Taiwan friends but some culture issues are there.

Re: 6 days post hysterectomy: Emotional , tired...blah

Sorry you're feeling bad I had the same thing done on the same date, I was home 3/18 though and when I woke up on 3/19 I felt as if I had NOTHING done. I was up cleaning counters, and making meals, as long as I didn't work to hard or bend over. I probably shouldn't have done any of that, but I haven't used any pain meds or anything since 3/19. I feel fine, tomorrow is one week check up afterwards and I'm gong to ask if I can drive and get some minimal stuff done. The nurses when over several times NOT TO do anything for 16 weeks, NOTHING. My husband thought I was kidding, until my mom was going on and on about the nurses saying don't do anything period for 16 weeks. I don't watch much TV and I read but haven't been in the mood, so I'm bored out of my mind. I hope it gets better for you. And remind your husband that you do stuff to fast you can later end up in the hospital needing surgery to repair tears. I also was told to walk a lot so I've been outside walking daily. Hope you feel better, wendy

Re: 6 days post hysterectomy: Emotional , tired...blah

Thanks. I feel fine. I was taking the pain medicine, though not hard narcotics! I live in Asia and well, to everyone around me I am to be in bed.If I went out or to church or something (which i will try to do for a meeting tomorrow) you would think I was bringing a death wish. They say this is why Americans have such health problems, don't follow what is good for them!!LOL!
I think my blood sugar had gotten too low so that didn't help any. I am a busy independent person so this is killing me. I will try to walk some today outside
I am having problems sleeping at night now.....story of my life!!

So glad there is this board!!

Re: 6 days post hysterectomy: Emotional , tired...blah

Your Asian friends have a good point! Please, take care of yourself and don't try to do too much. It is so easy to over do it and you can cause so much damage to yourself! It is hard to take it easy but it won't last forever.

The insomnia takes some time to get better, it is very normal (although definitely no fun)! Good luck!!
