My life post TLH

For a decade, I had been suffering. I had to be on pain pills daily, sleeping pills for extended periods of time, no energy, always eating, couldn't do anything I wanted to do. It was so difficult to be me, I got depressed, I wasn't happy about who I had become.

I had a total hysterectomy May 3, 2012. It has forever changed who I am and will be. I say change because I am starting to enjoy exercising. I don't enjoy the soreness or while I am actually doing it, but I like being able to move. Before my hysterectomy, I couldn't walk, sit, stand, or laydown without pain.

I have began to eat alot more fruits and veggies. I didn't really eat badly, but I ate too much. Now, I can stop when I am full, I don't have pain after meals, and I enjoy having stuff other than junk!

Since mid June, I have been exercising, actually doing workout videos for my core muscles, getting toned up on my thighs and hips, starting to lose the excess weight on my belly. I have lost 2.5inches in my thighs and chest. I am now one pant and bra size smaller!

I have noticed one other thing. I haven't rewarded or punished myself with food. Instead I have went to get my manicure or pedicure, or my hair done. Today I went and bought 2 new outfits for work and home. I am no longer afraid to wear skirts, shorts, and dresses. I wear whatever I want and enjoy the fact that I feel good about myself.
