insurance finally says o.k.
I too had to fight the insurance company for years, 4 to be exact (I am same age as you), they required me to go through all sorts of other procedures before they would approve my hyster. 3 laproscopic surgeries, 3 D & C's, hysteroscopy, cone biopsy, hormone therapy, the list goes on and on. The last straw was when they wanted me to get an endometrial ablation. That's when I got an attorney and told them I was going to sue, for neglect and for putting my life at risk with all these useless procedures. It didn't take long after they received that letter, to approve my hyster.
The second opinion Dr. I had was on that kick about me being so young and that I should go through hormone therapy, taking progesterone pills all month long. I told him been there/done that and to stick it.
Look around at the ages of the people on this board the majority of them are in their 30's. So I don't buy that I was too young to have a hyster.
When insurance company approved, I was in shock but thrilled. If I could have had surgery that day I would have (just so they didn't have time to change their minds, lol).
2 wks. prior to my surgery, I did have the normal doubts and fears everyone has. When you start wondering if this is right for you remember this, this hyster is the best thing I ever did for myself. I no longer have to worry about being hostage to the bathroom or planning my life around my cycle every month. I now can live a life free of restrictions. All this made major surgery and recovery worth it. Cuz at 35, I want to live like I'm 35, not 80.
