Support please! Me and husband in hospital possible at same time!!
I've just registered and could do with a bit of support and encouragement (like we all do)!!
I have a fibroid the size of a cantaloupe melon and have had megga monthlies for years, I'm now in a lot of pain and have been told I need a total hysterectomy with both ovaries and cervix removed, I'm having this on the 27th of June 2007. Also my husband had a heart attack last autumn and had stents fitted, he has started having pain again and is going for an angiogram this Thursday, if they find any problems they are saying that he'll have to have a heart bypass next week (thats the week before my op)!!
The logistics and planning of this are frightening and on top of that I'm worried sick about him (and me)!
Any words of encouragement would be most appreciated.

I realy don't know what to say that would make you feel better. I can say that the sisters on this site are full of information and are a wealth of knowledge. We can pray that the by-pass isn't necessary. I'm not sure of restrictions put on by pass patients but maybe you can recover together (with a little help). You must be feeling shattered. Take care.

When they drop a bombshell on you, they really drop it. I can see that planning something like this would be very daunting. You have your surgery the same day as I do. My Dad had a heart attack in Dec. '05 and has had chest pains ever since, he too has stents he has had every test they could do and they can't see why he still has the chest pain, he takes his nitro and it seems to help, but still has that constant, nagging pain, hope they find nothing when DH husband goes, so you both aren't recovering at the same, or that you don't have to postpone(sp?) your sugery until a later date. Good luck, both of you, let us know how DH makes out on Thursday, maybe between all of us we help make a plan.

Oh DB1, I'll be thinking about both of you! I can't imagine both of you having to deal with the stress of this right now. I'll be praying your dh is ok and your surgery goes well!!!

I'm adding my prayers that your DH 's pain is for nothing serious and he won't need bypass surgery. If it turns out that he does, maybe you could talk to your dr and ask if you could possibly postpone your surgery for a short time ( I even hate to mention that when you're in so much pain ). If that's not an option, maybe you can arrange for home health care? Some insurance companies have that option.
I'm sending lots of good wishes and
S

Thanks so much everyone I'll let you know how things are going. I hope that you are all OK with all of the things you're going through too. My DH is adament that I don't postpone my op but I might (and not tell him) if he needs the by-pass op. I don't want to but I can't see a way around it.
Take care everyone.

Is there anyone out there with similar/same problem past or present as me please?
I've posted earlier today (see below) about my DH and myself having operations at the same time and had some lovely replies, now I'm wondering if anyone out there was or is in a similar situation, I'd really like to hear from you!!

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this terrible situation. Do you have people around to help you? Don't be afraid to take their help. Line everyone up you can to help you and your husband get back to good health. My dad had heart bypass at 77 and he did great!
Good luck to you both!
