Is Iodine Douche same as Betadine Douche?

I have been told by my doctor to do a Betadine douche, but I have been to several stores and have not found one. I have seen a store brand that h as iodine in it. Is it the same? Also some that say medicated. Is this something I should use? And he didn't tell me when I s hould do it. The night before or the morning of?

Your pharmacist could probably advise you about the Betadyne douche, but as far as when to use it, the best thing for you to do is call the doctor's office and ask. Doctor's vary on when/what they want their patients to do. The nurse in his office should be able to help.

I ran in to the same problem. When I called my doctor's office I was told to get any medicated douche.

Inside the box is a little "pillow" of an iodine solution that you squirt into the bottle before using the douche.

I think you should ask the pharmacist also. I think that Betadine is a brand name for their iodine solutions. Your doc. should tell you exactly when he wants you to use it.
