so different here in Canada

It is interesting reading all the info about castles in the US. Here in Canada all of our health care is free - gov't funded (my tax dollars, so not REALLY free!) - hospital stay as long as necessary, and all meds while in hospital, food (which is actually quite good), etc.
The hospital I go to is great - the nurses are fantastic - the nicest people to walk the face of the earth as far as I'm concerned (except for maybe all the great ladies here!), it is very quiet, peaceful even! I have never slept better than after my 2 laps while still in hospital. My favourite part is the warm blankets they bring so all the patients can be nice and toasty and comfy.
I am so glad I don't have to worry about insurance, being sent home before I'm ready, the noise, etc. My heart goes out to all of you who do.

I'm so glad I found this site - I love all of you!
Thanks for the tip to bring goodies for the nurses - I definitely plan to do that.

Heya Endo -

From what I have read on your health care system, while it does have its drawbacks, it is far better than what we have here in the states.

We get UP TO 2 days in the castle, and have to get further time approved before we can stay longer. What fun.

Have a great night,
Jess

so different here in Canada

It is amazing how different things are. My family has changed insurance several times during the last 5 years due to various reasons - like me staying home with kids, husband changing jobs, employers changing what is offered... I've had to change all my doctors and hospitals to places where I don't feel nearly as comfortable and it is just so frustrating. No one has my complete medical history because I have to keep moving. It's just so hard to have a "relationship" with a doctor this way. Insurance does it's job I guess, but it sure is frustrating. Grrrrrr...
