Question about discharge

Had vaginal hysterectomy on Jan. 24. Have no bleeding, but have pinkish discharge usually just when I wipe. Is this normal?

Question about discharge

It is normal to have spotting for a few weeks. It can range anywhere from pinkish to brownish. If it is bright red, then I would call the doctor. My doctor also told me that the stitches would start to dissolve around weeks 3-4 and that the spotting could pick up a little bit during that time.

Question about discharge

I agree with MickeyNut. My doctor told me the same thing, but my discharge has completely stopped at just 3 weeks.

Question about discharge

Thank you ladies for information. I had a DNC/Ablation/Leep done on 11/22/06 and have bled ever since. Poor doctor tried everything, hysterectomy was next option. After having bled for so long, anytime I see any kind of pink/red my heart drops.

Question about discharge

Yeah, you are fine. Some light bleeding is pretty common. I didn't have anything that I count as "bleeding" after like the 2nd day after surgery. There was the occasional pink streak when I wiped for some time. I didn't have much of that, though my doc kept telling me if I did it was okay, stitches were dissolving and such. He even said I might bleed after sex the first time (at 6weeks) but that didn't happen either. So unless it gets worse, don't worry. It is very common.
