3 days post op hysterectomy - pain and swelling; patch - hot flashes?

My name is Amy I just had my hysterectomy nov 11 I am very nervous about the changes my body will go through especially the estrogen patch I hope it works. I am home now but I still have some pain and swelling that is normal right? 3 days post op? but nothing compared to the pain i had prior to this,. Will i still get hot flashes even though I am wearing a patch?

Hello Amy,
You can expect to have some pain and swelling for a few weeks(maybe longer). Its part of the recovery process, everyone is different, some heal quicker than others.
Important thing to remember is to rest even when you think your ok, dont over do it.
I kept my ovaries but still had a few episodes of hot flashes. So I cant help you with that issue.
If you brows through some of the other posts you may find ones related to estrogen patches.
Or you could try posting again with estrogen patch at the begining. That might bring your question to the attention of someone who can advise you on the issue.
