pain from 30lb dog jumping on belly at 2weeks post-op

Hi. Today makes 3 weeks since LAVH/SO. Had first post-op checkup yesterday. Was frustrating as dr. talked about seminars while doing internal exam. I have alot of pain in my lower right side. My 30lb dog jumped onto my right side at 2 weeks post-op. I decided to wait until my first dr. apt to let dr. check me since i didnt have ride when it first happened. He seemed to think everything was ok but i dont feel like he took the time to really check me out. The pain is mostly lower right side but whole right side is swelled more than left. I am worried but dont know if i should call dr. for another apt. My next apt is not until 6/22. First 2 nights after dog jumped on me I had bad night sweats, nausea, and headaches but thought that was normal part of menopause. But now im not so sure since nights have gotten better. Also, my lips were 'purple' when it first happened. I need advice, please. Should i call dr. and have him check me again? Please help.

Re: pain from 30lb dog jumping on belly at 2weeks post-op

I would call to see him sooner, better safe than sorry!
Thats a big doggy, I was worried about my little 4lb-er dog, I would put a little pillow over my belly just incase he wanted to jump up.
Not sure why your lips would turn purple, maybe from the pain, but make sure you mention that to your DR.
Hope you feel better soon, take care & keep us posted.

Re: pain from 30lb dog jumping on belly at 2weeks post-op

Please call your doctor. My 9 lb cat jumped on my stomach about 2 weeks post op. It about sent me though the roof. I can't imagine a 30 lb dog. When I told my DR about it she said she had to admit someone back into the hospital because of the very same thing.
