Preparing w/famlily & routines

Well, I'm scheduled for Oct. 30th. Getting my five year old ready. He's going to start taking the bus to school. Very scary for him & me. He's starting Monday with me walking him and greeting him to get him used to the routine before I go in. My in-laws are going to be here the week of my surgery. So they will be a big help I'm sure. I've been told & advised that it will be at least a couple of weeks before I can be up and around.
What should I take to the hospital? I'm preparing for at least two days. That's what my Dr said.
I'll have the school lunches taken care of, house cleaned, laundry done. Hopefully by then we'll know the neighbor kids that I can get to make sure my boy makes it to the bus stop ok. We're new to our area and don't know a sole! Got one month to make ourselves known. I'm sure the teachers and people at the school will help me too. I plan on getting to know the bus driver very well.
Looks like I'm just rambling. Thinking of a million things a minute! At least I know I'm not alone. This site is great and I appreciate all the good advice.
God Bless us All. God Bless America!!!!!!!!

Preparing w/famlily & routines

Jan it sounds like you have everything under control.

I had my surgery on the 17th of September. The biggest shock for me is how well I am doing. I am getting around way better than I thought I would be. Hopefully you will have a recovery like I am. I have a 6 and 7 year old daughters they have been wonderful. I think your son is going to do fine

Take care

Hi Jan,
Wow, you do have everything organized, and how wonderful that your in-laws will be with you when you get home.

As for your list of what to take to the hospital Jan, if you go to the home page on the site, and scroll down to the bottom you will see several pull down menus. Go to Ladies in Waiting, and you will see Carols list. This is a list of essentials that is a wonderful check list of what to take with you!

You will find other really helpful things on those pull down menus, like questions for your pre-op appointment etc.

You have a whole month to keep reading and posting any questions, and we will all do what we can to help!

Best of luck!
Hugs,
Maria.
