TLH Cold weather post hysterectomy

Everyone wants me to come over but the weather is wet and cold! Plus I was told not to drive the first few weeks post op! My friends don't understand!! Who else doesn't believe in going out in cold/wet weather before your post op appointment?

I never liked going out in this cold weather even before my hysterectomy! I'm over 3 weeks post op and I'm not getting out in this. Listen to your Doc and your body. The last thing you need is to get sick right now. Bundle up and rest.

I won't go out!! I'm an asthmatic as well!! I'm not catching pneumonia!!

Awesome advice

If I waited until it warmed up, I'd be inside until May! Although I wasn't driving, I was out for coffee on day 4 and then every day thereafter, I was driving at a week post-op (with my doctor's approval.)

If you don't feel up to going out, don't. And say so to your friends! Invite them to pick up coffee and to stop by for a visit, instead.

Excellent advice! They should be coming to you, you're the one who had major surgery! Hysterectomy has become so common, society seems to have forgotten it's still major surgery with a significant recovery time.

Feel free to tell them you're staying in, and don't feel well enough to venture out into the weather.
