Bladder sling surgery today

Had my bladder sling surgery today! I'm already urinating like a normal person!! Yay! My only question now is, will I be going as OFTEN as I was before. That will take a few days for me to see. So far my recovery has been easy. Coughing really isn't very fun right now, but that's the worst of it! Here's to hoping everything is fixed!

Re: Bladder sling surgery today

I'm having the sling and DVH on Tuesday. Good to hear your outcome. I'm a little nervous with both but I'm hoping I can refrain from pushing when to pee. Seems to be my whole problem and I'm in such a habit if it. I'm hoping it just comes out naturally since all I've done since my pre op is really concentrating on how to pee every time I go now! Hope your cough eases up and continue with a awesome recovery

Re: Bladder sling surgery today

I'm sorry I didn't clarify in my original post, but I had my bladder sling removed yesterday. I haven't urinated normally since surgery. I must have been "high" on my pain medication yesterday when I made that post :-) Sorry! I'm having lots more cramping today and still bleeding. I'm not sure why I'm bleeding so much after this surgery compared to my hysterectomy and repair work. It isn't really much bleeding, not like I'm going thru pads and pads, but it's most definitely more than my original surgery.

Cool - Bladder sling surgery today Re: Bladder sling surgery today

I had mine done this past Tuesday. Still hurting. How does this pain compare to a c-section incision? I never had to have a c-section.

Re: Bladder sling surgery today

Ok, so I'm 5 days out from surgery to REMOVE my bladder sling as it was too tight and I was having difficulty voiding and repeated infections. I'm still bleeding bright red blood and passing the occasional quarter sized or smaller clot. Now, my bleeding isn't like my period, but it hasn't slowed down since surgery. Anyone have any experience with this? It's more bleeding than I had even after my hyst with TONS of repair work.

Re: Bladder sling surgery today

I spoke with him yesterday. He said some bleeding was to be expected and he wasn't concerned with what I described to him. However, today, my bleeding has increased and I'm cramping again. I'm going to see how things progress thru the day.
