Do you want to feel fat?!

Trying shopping for summer clothes. I tried shopping for some new sun dresses and cute shirts. Not cool with the swelly belly!! I feel like a fat pig. AND I have an insatiable appetite to help with my growing butt too. I feel like this summer is a wash for looking cute in anything. I am only 3 weeks post op and my urologist said no running or working out for 12 weeks. She may be on crack. My gyno said 8 weeks. I'll stick with her advice and I hope I can get my appetite under control soon

LOL have faith I too went thru the "Nothing in the House is safe" not even the stale cheetos found lurking in the bread box, But it does pass. Your right at the bad part. 3 weeks. Im 5 weeks out and can't hardley eat anything now. nothing tastes good just now found myself spitting out an almond joy GROSS and i love them but no cant eat them now. I thought i was gaining weight but had loast 4 lbs last week. Mostly wanted sugar, now even a hamburger is unapealing. hope it goes well for you.

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

Oh thank goodness! My fear is that I will keep eating this way (which I usually don't) and my husband will have to roll me around the pool like a beach ball this year. Thank you for the light at the end of the tunnel

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

I had the hungerrrrrr too. I thought I ma explode from all I was eating. I think my body was recovering after the narcotics and surgery. Now, I am almost five weeks and having to make an effort to find food I want.
I have decided snacking works, so have fruit, nuts, small salads and granola.
Not much makes me hungry.
I did crave peanutbutter brownies the other night though! Lol

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

I am so glad I found this post as I was to embarresed to post it myself! I am what my family considers a "health nut" I run every morning at 4am, then come home and do my weight training. I am aware of everything I put into my body, yet since my surgery I am eating junk that I haven't had in 10 years or more. Just this morning I ate a whole box of Sugar Smacks for breakfast!! And I can't count the Toblerones I've ate! I eat all day and night, mostly Junk. I don't have a scale so I have no idea what I've gained but my guess is 10 pounds at least! Ladies, what makes us so hungry after? I'm at my mothers until released from the Dr and even she mentioned my appetite.

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

Well, not eating the noght before surgery, then 24 hours day of, then for three days, not having a tiny appetite at all...i think rebound? Our bodies making ul for lost time?
Fortunately, it did seem to pass for me. Now, aout every thrid or fourth day, I eat more. Overall, i am still down many lbs (10).
I needed to drop about 15, so now i need to keep this off! Lol

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

So glad to read this! I'm just five weeks and feel like I've gained so much weight! I was eating just to eat. In part I think I was bored. I never had an appetite till week three and then it exploded. I wanted ice cream, chocolate (I never normally crave) and pretzels!
It could be hormones too. Who knows but I just hope it comes off as easy as it went on! Hang in there. We need to heal first then worry about all that other stuff.
Hugz sisters.

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

Your body needs good food to heal, so that's where the appetite may come from, as well as hormonal changes. Stock up on healthy snacks and do your best to eat right. I have huge cravings for protein, and, oddly enough, veggies.

You can focus on your weight and your looks when you are well. If you feel fat, walk when you can. Other exercise right now, including lifting things and opening heavy doors, may damage your insides. I may try jogging a few steps next week (almost 12 weeks!) to make sure my swelly belly isn't going to freak out.

Happy healing and good luck!

Re: Do you want to feel fat?!

Good to know what to expect. I'm still in my first post week so its a struggle to eat anything at all. It's good to get a heads up so I can be prepared with some healthy snacks. Thanks a bunch!!!!
