glasses vs contacts

I wear disposable contact lenses (sleep in them)for 2 weeks at a time. What will happen during surgery, will I need to have my glasses for the hospital duration and just forget the contacts for that time.

Using your glasses is probably a good idea. I was told that I would have to remove any contacts, removable bridges, etc. Maybe you could have your contacts handy for afterwards in case you feel like wearing them ( I didn't really care by then).

Best wishes.

I agree with jeanus. They want you to remove your contacts, etc before surgery. Honestly, I didn't care if I put mine in or not after surgery and while I was in the hospital. I dozed in and out the whole time and don't even know if I could accomplish even putting them in my eye with the meds I was on.

I absolutely HATE wearing my glasses, but I didn't put my contacts in until the day I left the castle (day 4)...I just didn't care. You doze in and out for the most part...you probably won't even care about the contacts at that point

They won't let you have contacts in during your surgery. I didn't even bring mine to the castle. I used my glasses, but not very often. For the most part, I couldn't even keep my eyes opened from the meds. I couldn't focus on TV and it was difficult to read. I probably didn't actually put in my contacts for 5 days.

I removed my contacts and took glasses to the hospital. Since I was sleeping a lot after surgery I did not want to wear contacts, and taking them in and out, getting up to wash hands - not feasable after surgery!! The nurses also asked me to remove the contacts anyway.
