Re: Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

gypsylady, you are not crazy! You have symptoms of estrogen deficiency. "Normal levels" mean nothing if you are on one end or the other of that range.

Premarin is horse urine. Get a different doctor and a better estrogen replacement. Look at the articles in the Hormones section, under natural and bio-identical, compounded. Read the book "Natural Hormone Replacement" by Uzzi Reiss. Your doctor is ignoring YOUR BODY and focusing on his test numbers. Do not let him prolong your suffering.

What you have is correctable. Don't lose faith! There are better doctors out there - look for "anti-aging specialists" in your area.

So far I am doing okay on pregnant mares urine (Premarin), and estrace which is bio id I think. However everyone is different. My mom is on Ogen, it seems like everyone needs to find what works for them, another friend is on the V dot.

I agree, if they wont help you get another dr!

Re: Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Gypsy, you may want to ask your pcp for an antidepressant to help supplement the hormones. My doc adjusted my meds and then I made another adjustment. I'm currently taking Welbutrin and the hormones and my mood is much better. I also have the memory problems. I write memos in my cell and try to remember to check it every time I go from one place to the next. It is slowly improving. Wishing you well in your recovery.

While the conjugated estrogens in Premarin are derived from pregnant mares' urine, there is no actual urine in the product. I have my share of ethical concerns about Premarin but I cannot deny that it is working far better for me than I expected it to.

Yes, derived from horse urine is what I should have said, sorry.

Anyone who wants to know more, there is plenty of good information in the hormones section of this forum.

Re: Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Keep going to the doctor or go to another one if they don't listen. That is what I had to do for the last year. You know when something is wrong with you.

Re: Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Dear Gypsy.. I so relate.. I had to fight to even get my surgery - for two years. Then I get it, with a reasonable expectation to be myself again, only to find that I am now a mess without a uterus! The list is long.. More than I can handle. I read alot of posts and I see that all of the things I am going through is, well, what it is...
I think I haven't quite accepted that I have won the battle but not the war. I have to keep going back, fighting for myself, at the various doctors.. until I have resolution.
Suzanne Somers wrote a book called 'Ageless" and she insists that life can be happy and fulfilling and that we don't have to accept our current state as normal.
Just don't give up...
