Anyone suffering from post-op infection?

I am now over 3 weeks post-op, and my abdomen got as hard as a rock, and very red. Went to my Doc, I had an infection, which had to be opened up to drain. I've never seen anything like this - continual drainage, and have to have home health nurses daily to my house to change everything.

Hope no one else is going through this - what a nightmare! My Doc said it usually happens before this if it is going to...

I am so sorry you're facing this complication. I hope the home health nurses are taking extra good care of you and that you're able to get some good to help with the healing.

Make sure you follow up often with the doctor until everything is resolved. I had a buildup of fluid in my abdomen after my hysterectomy, but I passed it off as "slow healing".... It was not slow healing, but a collection of blood and other fluids which never resolved itself.
