Lavh Ladies

Hello!! Has anyone else with a recent LAVH looked at or felt stitches? Has anyone had a checkup with DR yet? Seems the stitch in my belly button and stich even lower from the LA part is not the dissolving type as in the vagina, but the type the DR will remove? I also had and A&P repair and seems like and outside stitch toward back of vagina is not the disolving type but the hard type to be removed? Just wondering!!!

Daisey,
I had an LAVH on 4/29 and had the disolving stiches. The doc removed the ones from the 3 small incisions on day 6. He said they would disolve eventually but wanted to remove them to alleviate any scars. I still have the 3 stitches inside where the cervix used to be and he said they should disolve on their own in 3 to 4 weeks.

My disolving stitches looked like regular stitches to me. I honestly don't know how to tell the difference.

Lavh Ladies

Daisey,
My LAVH was on April 1. I noticed that I had a couple of stiches on 2 or my incisions (on my abdomen). The nurse had told me that they would dissolve on my own. At about 2 weeks, I told her that I still had the stiches so she told me to cut ithem myself, which I thought, oh my goodness....I can't think of even touching that area, much less cutting near it! I didn't cut it, cause I was too skittish about it. I then called her at about 4 weeks and told her that I had not cut it, but they weren't dissolving either. She then said to wait until the doctor saw me at 5 weeks and she would do it. I'm really glad that I waited because the doctor used sterilized surgical scissors and some type of surgical tweezers to cut the stiches. She pressed down onto the incision, to get as close to the skin as possible and then she cut it. I'm so glad that I didn't do it myself, because she really got close to the incision.
