Dissolving Stitches? Bleeding? Bending?

Hi,
I am 12 days post TVH with anterior and posterior repairs. Tonight I passed a small thread with a knot in it along with some white stringy tissue.

Is this normal? I would have thought dissolving thread would just dissolve and not come out the vagina??

Thanks if someone can help me out.

Also, is bleeding past 14 days normal? I'll call my Dr on Tues or Wed if still bleeding since the hosp release sheet said 2 wks, but wanted to know what the norm is with you all.

And, a 3rd question... I was told walking could be my only exercise and it was encouraged from day 1 post surgery. I, however, have been bending over a lot with undecorating the Christmas tree and cleaning up behind my niece's puppy, and just because I forget. It seems to shorten ligaments in abdomen instead of strain them. Hoping I have not damaged something with the bending over. Thanks if anyone can help with this one, too.

The stitches may not totally dissolve. Obviously part of it did, allowing you to "pass" the rest. As we are all unique, some of us bleed, some of us don't. Any new bleeding, or anything bright red should be discussed with your dr. Darker, more brownish blood is old blood and can be typical. Bending over can be a bit much, so it would be best if you ease up on that.

I haven't been bleeding but I am getting a yellowish orange secretion coming form the incision. I have been bending quite a bit - I wasn't told not to - am I causing a problem or is this normal???

Thanks, Weiser, for the info on the stitches. Makes me feel better that I'm probably not popping stitches.

JBeener, I normally have the orangish/pinkish discharge/bleeding from the internal incisions, too, but sometimes mine turns bright red. So, as Weiser suggested, guess we should call our Dr's offices to be sure all is ok. I'm going to call on Wed, which will be 2wks + 1day post surgery, if I am still bleeding of any kind.

I think Weiser is correct, too, that we shouldn't be bending. But, I will ask that question on Wed when I call the Dr's office.
