Re: Pain 10 weeks post op hysterectomy

One of the hardest things to wrap our brains around is how long this takes. We're our doctors' patients through 4-8 weeks, after which they have no surgical follow up with us. Full healing can take 4-6 months post-op, and for some longer. A good article is How Long Will the Pain Last After Hysterectomy?

It's hard to say if what you're experiencing might be normal without knowing what kind of pains are you feeling. Are you experiencing ntense pains which call for meds, or an achy discomfort? I would occasionally feel crampiness after doing something intense. It was my body's way of saying "Not yet, Sister!"

Pain 10 weeks post op hysterectomy

Hi there! I had my hysterectomy on December 7th and am still experiencing pain. If I lean on a counter or wear heals for any length of time I feel pain and soreness. Still have "zings" around my incision and burning at the end of peeing. My Dr says it's normal and that I'm still healing and can have these pains for a year. I also have lupus so unfortunately my healing takes longer than most.
