Abdominal Exercises
I'm 8 weeks post-op, and everything is fine. I'm just wondering if it's really ok to do some "ab" work at this point, or if could tear what's been healing for the past 8 weeks.
Thanks!

Re: Abdominal Exercises
Personally, I'd recommend asking your doctor.
My surgeon was amazed by my very speedy recovery and took away all limitations around 6 weeks post-op. Whatever I felt physically comfortable with, it was okay for me to do. I was the 2nd awesome recovery he's seen in his many years of providing hysterectomies.
Best wishes to you!

Well, I've been cleared. My surgeon was a man, and to tell you the truth, I know that males go through all of that schooling, etc. to be doctors, but a man will never know how it feels to be a woman going through this. They will never feel our pain, cramps, recovery from surgery etc. So, bascially I started this post to see what other's have done and how it felt, etc.
Don't get me wrong, it's no disrespect toward any male doctor. My regular gyno is a female, she doesn't do hysto's anymore, so she referred me to this doctor in the same group, and she's out of town, so I can't ask her.
This is my own personal opinion, but I just don't understand how a "male" doctor can truly understand what or how we feel.

Re: Abdominal Exercises
I see....
I felt perfectly comfortable before I got the okay from my doc, actually. He gave me the okay to go for walks at first, and was amazed when he heard how far I was able to walk per day. I really didn't have discomfort, that I recall. But, I know that I'm in the minority.

Re: Abdominal Exercises
Definitely ask your Dr. They may tell you to start slowly.
