Almost 11 weeks post hysterectomy and started bleeding

I had a SAH on Nov 27, 2015. I kept my ovaries and my cervix. I did not bleed at all after my surgery until 2 days ago. It started out spotting, but now it is heavier. Is this usual after so long? I did pick my grandson up earlier Sunday, and I do low impact arobics, nothing strenuous.

Re: Almost 11 weeks and started bleeding

Call your dr. At my 6 weeks check he said that a small percentage of women will start bleeding in the first year and that he can take care of it. It could be granulation.

Re: Almost 11 weeks and started bleeding

My doctor told me that if I kept my cervix I could have bleeding. I was having bleeding problems so I had it removed. I think it's normal but would check with your doctor.

I read somewhere, I think the hystersisters info. booklet, that if you have your ovaries and cervix you may still get mini periods.

Thank you, I was hoping all that was over, but not as bad as before.

Re: Almost 11 weeks post hysterectomy and started bleeding

I haven't bleed at all since my surgery (4 weeks ago) I started bleeding today. It's brown so it's old blood. I normally would be starting my period now but my dr said I shouldn't have mini periods cuz he cauterized my cervix. I'm hoping my body is just cleaning the left over junk out. Maybe the same with you?
