Painful urination

Any one experience(ing) painful urinations?
I recently had a hyserectomy (ovaries not removed) and I notice that I have painful urinations, they tell me it'll go away.

Do you feel sexual post op?

I am so scare that I'll never be the same again...

I had bladder problems for about 4 weeks post op. You may be have a UTI so should let your Dr. know. They may want to test your urine and you may need an antibiotic. You may also be having bladder spasms, and these eventually go away. Call your Dr. and let them know, you don't want to let it get too bad if it is in fact an infection.

You will eventually return to normal, I am slowly getting there. My libido has actually increased , yet not cleared for intercourse yet. Hoping it all still functions the proper way!!

Not sure when your surgery was. I had the bladder spasms for weeks. Yes, make sure you do not have an infection.

The "normal" bladder spasms will go away, sometimes slowly. Mine are gone now, but I was wondering WHEN they would leave. I am 3 1/2 months post op. All is well. Best of luck.

have you been checked for a uti? if you dont have one, your urinary pain will most likely go away soon.

Painful urination

Just had a tvh on Sept 10th, almost 2 weeks ago. My doctor said that you might experience some bladder spasms, because of the surgery, and also from the catheter they had in for 24 hours. Did you have a catheter? It could also be a uti, you should call your doctor and they might want to see you. Hope you feel better soon
Take care

Yes, I had a catheter but it was in for last then 24 hours. I told my Dr. and she thought it was an infection but it wasn't. She never mentioned spasms.
She did say it'l go away.

I don't drink a lot of water because of the pain associated with urinating.

LAVH/BSO June 18th, I think I had a UTI and spasms. Still have trouble with spasms at times but I just keep going, spasms are nothing like the painful cramps I used to have.

Painful urination

I was having painful urination yesterday and the day before. I went to the Dr. and had a UTI. Am on antibiotics. Feeling better today. Dr. also gave me some meds to help with the bladder spasms, but the pharmacy was out of it so I'll go in tomorrow to pick that up. I didn't know I was having bladder spasms, but I guess I'll see how the med works.

As for the feeling sexual post-op. I did. Don't right now but probably because of the UTI. But I'm sure I will again.

Hey Sista!

I had the same problem when I came home from the hosptial, actually my dr wanted to see me 2 weeks after surgery and when I brought the painful urination to her attention she gave me so antibotics. She stated that I didn't have an infection but felt that it was a sign that I was to get one soon.

Better safe than suffer gurl! Don't worry I have a lot of concerns, but remember to take one day at a time.

Take care Hsyster gurl!
