9 wks TAH returning to wok need advice

Although I am still in my 8th week this week, I'm returning to work full-time on Monday next week. I sm an accountant and sit all day at the computer. I'm excited and mentally ready to go back but uncertain physically n emotionally. I know I cannot sit up an entire 8 hrs and still become winded. What advice can my sisters give me when I get physically exhausted n in pain, the dos n donts, etc.? Is there a certain back pillow I might purchase to help with back pain, etc.

Re: 9 wks TAH returning to wok need advice

You need to get up and walk around at least five minutes every hour. I worked in an office and would get up and check the fax machine just to walk away from my computer. Our restroom was at the other end of the office building hallway and that gave me a good walk. Sometimes I would go to the restroom just to get the exercise. I always left the office on my lunch break. If I wasn't meeting a friend, I would go to a neighboring office building where they had a food court in their basement. I would take a magazine and relax there. If you stay in the office, you don't get the exercise. My boss tended to talk to me the times I decided to stay in and have lunch in our conference room. A few times, he came in and asked me when I would be through with lunch. I liked my boss, but also needed my time away from the office to "re-group" and be recharged for the afternoon.

For now, enjoy this last week of freedom!

Thanks Norway Lynn. I'll be sure to walk every hour. And take lunch breaks away from the office. I tend to stay in on my lunch break but definitely will change to b get out.
