Re: 3 weeks post hysterectomy - strange feeling in vagina :(

I'm glad I found this thread because I feel good so far at post op day 7 and I'm waiting for the shoe to drop with another weird symptom my doc (male) didn't mention to consider.

At the risk of sounding obvious, and I'm in no way a vagina expert, everyone says here that their doc says swelling is the issue. So, ladies, listen to your body and SLOW DOWN. Get off your feet more, put your feet up, take ibuprofen for swelling (or other med if you can).

I have heard from my doc over and over that the recovery process is mostly internal, a mystery of what comes next and how far I am along at any given time. So, I should expect 6-12 months of progress. That said, though I KNOW I will become frustrated as many are here now, take it easier on yourselves!

Re: 3 weeks post hysterectomy - strange feeling in vagina :(

So, so, so glad I saw this because I was just about to post the very same question! I am 3 weeks post op and feeling the same thing. Gross as it may be I used a mirror to inspect and didn't see anything alarming. Being Halloween I am not sure what I expected to see popping out of there. It's official though...I am tired of talking about my vagina! I just want to be normal again.

Im glad i could help! I was freaking out as I'm sure you were too! Advil helped me the most to deal with the swelling and just wait for it to go down. Hope you feel better soon!!!!
