3 weeks today post op..and still pain...

think somethings not quiet right atm...
my names sharon i had a TLH( laparoscopy hysterectomy) 3 weeks ago today..when i was in hospital i had trouble with my bladder functioning properly after they took the cathiter out..it wouldnt empty properly...they took it out thursday morning and i was able to move around and have a shower...but my bladder wasnt working properly they ended up having to put the cathiter back in thrusday nite...and they were flushing the drips in my hands and really hurt me...air was getting into the tube...sothey were flushing the drip and i have blood coming out of my hand...i started to get upset and the doc came in and saw me...i had the shoulder tip pain aswell..and me gettign upset wasnt helping...was hard to breathe so back on oxygen too...and peppermint water to help with the gas pain..plus more pain relief and stuff to help me relax abitmore...
so then friday came and i was trying my best to make my bladder work on its own...i got very frustrated at this point coz one nurse telling me ok to not have to measure wee and another saying i had too...i did apologise to them for me being so rude to them...anyway went home late friday afternoon...when home was cumfy but still in pain but sooo glad to be homw where my partner could look after me and i was in my own bad....
after that i caught an infection and stitches were taken out 4 days later than supposed too...

anyway i still have pain and i had blood in my urine yesterday after i wiped myself (sorry too much info)...i have a constant stabbing pain in my bladder area...
my pain from op has been coming and going..think its more on how much i have been doing throught the day...as to how sore i am....but for the last 2 days i have had the constant pain...pain isnt as bad as b4 hyster...but its about a 6 on the scale..havent done any heavy lifting...
im not sure if i should contact the doctors as i started back at work today....has anyone had this or anything simular happen to them?

please tell me what i should do?

Did you have a full hyst. Everything out. I had trouble peeing and pain for a couple of weeks but didnt return to work for six weeks. I walked about a week out which caused bleeding but not from urin your bladder can get nicked. But they are usually careful about checking this. Do you have a er to go to I got the best help from them. They check everything lol

I would suggest that you contact your doctor asap. I am not a doctor but you sound like you have a bladder infection. Also, returning back to work at 20 days post-op is pretty soon for a hysterectomy. Please get back to us with what you find out from your doctor.

It sounds like a bladder infection. Please go to the ER or call you doctor asap. Also, I think it is way too soon to be back at work, especially with all the pain your having.

yep i had a full hyster well kept ovaries...but everything else gone...

yes i live 5 mins away from a hospital...

spoke to specialists recetionist and she suggests to go to the docs get a urine sample and get results to her asap....
i hate this as i just started back at work...i wanted everything to be good after i had this hyster....if its not one thing its another....just dont know what to do...my boss will crack it if i go to docs...and go home....
this is sooo frustrating....grrrr....

At the end of the day it's your health, not your boss's.
You sound like you need more time to take care of yourself.
I'm also 3weeks and 2days post op and there is no way I'm ready to go back to work.
You have been through alot.
Could you explain to your boss whats happening and ask for more time off?

Did you go to the doctor and get your urine checked today?

yes went to docs yesterday and even with a urgent on the wee it still may take up to 48 hours to get results back....still in pain today...if hasnt eased by lunchtime i mite make a trip to the hospital....
think i mite need more time off work too...im a receptionist so i thought just sitting at my desk i would be ok...but im not liking the pain at all...
hopefully soon i will start to feel better...so over feeling like crap...

I understand how you feel. I'm 2 wks post op from having TLH with right ovary removed. I thought I was feeling better but started to feel sick again. Pain in my bottom and every where else. We just have to hang in there. Good luck with your healing��

Well ended up in the ER today bleeding got worse and so did the pain...had bloods taken ultrasound done...looks like I have an infection so I'm on 2 lots of antibiotics and more pain relief and been told to rest...have to go back to gp tomorrow to get results of urine that was collected on wed...the hosp were good I went in straight away but was there for hours...
Boss was really good about me leaving work and not coming back this week and playing it by ear about next week...but will be resting alot over weekend...
