Please Explain: LAVH vs. TAH vs. TLH

Can someone please explain the differences in the types of hysterectomies?! Reading all the accronyms is very confusing. My doctor coded mine as a TAH, I believe, though I'll have to verify... and then he told me I would be having a lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy, which would be LAVH, right? I'm so very confused about TAH and TLH and LSH and LAVH (am I missing any?!) and what's a BSO?! I'm so sorry if I sound stupid haha but I am so curious as to what all this means and I can't seem to find an explanation on this site or anywhere else online! Thanks in advance!

TAH is total abdominal hysterectomy, TLH is total laparoscopic hysterectomy. LAVH is as you said laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy, and I believe LSH is laparoscopic supracervical (saving yah cervix I believe) hysterectomy. BSO is bilateral salpingo oopherectomy (removal of both ovaries and tubes). DvH is a DaVinchi (robotic) hysterectomy and that's all I know. Lol. Maybe the meaning of the acronyms will help you figure out all the meanings.
