Scared of pelvic exam

My two year TAH/BSO anniversary will be in August 2006 and I haven't had a pelvic exam done since my surgery back in August 2004. I have the benefit of working for OB/GYN doctors and I made the comment the other day that I hadn't had an exam since my surgery and they about flipped out! I guess I am scared to have one because I am fearful they will find endometriosis again. The first year after my surgery, I was on FemHRT and now I am on vivelle.dot and I know that endo feeds off of estrogen. Should I be worried?

Thanks

Scared of pelvic exam

Hi packerfan
Shame on you. I think that if you have it you have it. What difference does it make if you know or don't know? If you know what I mean. Right now, if you have it you just don't know it. If you find out you have it you will know and can make decisions to lessen its growth. It seems like a wise option to me.
I'm assuming you must not be having any major pain issues. If that's true then that says a lot. It sounds like you must be doing pretty well.
I would encourage you to have your exam. If there is something to know, isn't it better to know so you can treat it or you can always choose not to if you want. You really should make sure all is well. Let us know what you decide.
's, Rita

Scared of pelvic exam

I haven't any idea what the answer is--I just wanted to say HI to another Packer fan! (Although it's a lot easier to be a packer fan when Brett is doing well and they're winning. I guess I'm a fair weather fan).
