PMS after surgery?

Hello Everyone,

I am 1 week after surgery and for the past 3 days my temper has been very quick... almost to the point of anger even. Everyone has been waiting on me hand and foot and I am recovering well, so I can't understand my attitude. Anyone else have these types feelings?

Re: PMS after surgery?

Thudajoy,
I have PMS right on schedule every 23-25 days just like always!
The Hubby hopes it goes away, but since I kept my ovaries, doc said it will stay until I hit menopause.
Could it be a reaction to your pain meds? Some that I have taken have left me less than nice.
I hope it gets better for you. Hang in there,
Kim

Re: PMS after surgery?

I too wonder if it is the pain meds. I have heard that. I did not experience this with my hysterectomy, but when I had my wisdom teeth pulled, the dr put me on steriods and I was absolutely crazy! So bad my mom came and got my kids. My MIL had another surgery and one of the pain drugs they gave her made her cry at the drop of a hat. I do hope you get to feeling better soon!

Re: PMS after surgery?

Thx you guys, I did wonder about the meds also. I'll keep an eye on my mood swings as I decrease the meds. But not looking forward experiencing pms monthly, at least no periods....yay )
