Taking care of kids

How long before I will be up and able to help my kids ages 10 and 12 to get up and ready and off for school, they are very self -reliant just need to get them going, also how long will I actually need someone to stay with me 24 hours a day? Woin't I just be sleeping alot and only getting up to use the potty?

Taking care of kids

I don't know about anyone else but it was at least a week before I could get up and around to do anything other than taking a short shower or go to the bathroom. I got up every once in awhile and walked around the house but it was slow going and that's about all I did -- walk around.

Remember that you're not supposed to do any housework for the first couple of weeks and your doctor should tell you about your other limitations. I never had anyone with me 24-hours a day because my husband worked but I did have someone close by in case I needed them.

Hopefully your kids will be able to do most everything by themselves with a little supervision from you while you're laying down and resting.

Have a good recovery and take care.
