stomach pain

Hi,
I had vaginal hysterectlmy June 28 along with bladder and rectuam repair. I have been doing real well, not tired alot. I have to take Mylanta every day to have bowel movement.
The last couple days my stomach feels crampy, not sure if it's just gassy(in normal circumstances that's what it would probably be it)It has been for 2 days and hard to sleep last night. Is this normal and any suggestions? Thanks for this website. There's really nothing else out there and didn't even know about swelly belly from my dr so that was quite shocking. How long does that last and does it just go away?

Re: stomach pain

It could be gas, but it also could be the mylanta. I am taking stoll softener daily to keep things moving. It tends to make me cramp a little. I think they push things through faster and it just makes us a little crampy because things arent moving at a normal self induced rate.

Re: stomach pain

I also think it could be the mylanta. When I run out of my acid reflux meds I go to mylanta to help with the burning. The problem is that I have to use it over a several day period even when I get my meds refilled. That leaves me nauseous, cramping and often gives me diarrhea. Overall I feel yucky. That's why I really try and make sure I get my meds refilled ontime.

I have used stool softeners (up to 3 per day), gasx, and drink a v8 mango pineapple juice and all of those together have really helped my system.

Just remember, if it continues and becomes very uncomfortable to check with your dr. The dr and staff are there to help you, don't be afraid to call if you need information.

Hope you feel better soon. Hugs sent your way.
