Update - 2nd opinion & tests show no heart defect!!!!

First night in the castle and I experienced heart palps and atrial fibrilation due to severe, acute anemia. Echocardiogram showed evidence of atrial septal defect (ASD) and cardiologist wanted to perform a number of mildly invasive tests to confirm and verify the size and position of ASD.

GYN practices out of different hospital than primary care physician, so I moved to his hospital on 2nd day where I had hyster. While in 2nd hospital I also had palps and AFib and was placed in cardio ICU.

6 weeks post op, NEW primary care sent me to NEW cardiologist to check for ASD. New cardiologist ordered two more echos, EKG, and stress test. Got results on Friday - NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER OF ASD!

I'm wondering what the heck the first doc saw????? And thinking sure am glad I switched hospitals, docs, and sought out 2nd opinion!

Mom said, well, Bonnie, we were praying that God would heal you. Looks like he did! (Gotta love my mom!)

What a scary thing to deal with on top of your hysterectomy.

I have no idea what they thought they saw but between you switching hospitals & Drs & your Mum's prayers it has gone away and I wouldn't be too concerned which one had got rid of it, I would just be thrilled that it had!

I hope that you are feeling much better now and that you can put this behind you.
