Bundle of nerves

Just found out 2 weeks ago I have to have a hysterectomy. After fighting abnormal pap smears for the last two years and having results come back as severe last November, then having an IUD removed in January along with a LEEP procedure, then yearly exam in June with the results as severe, my doctor has determined that a hysterectomy is what I need. I go in July 22 for another LEEP to see what kind of hysterectomy I need.
Im just kinda lost. I know I will be greatly taken care of by my kids, boyfriend and by many friends and extended family. I will be telling my parents this Sunday and I have yet to tell my kids (13 and 10).
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Bundle of nerves

I remember feeling like a spring that was wired too tight and about to pop! It sounds like you have a good support system in place and that is really great! Surf around this site, you should find it very helpful

Re: Bundle of nerves

Take time for everything to settle inside you - allow yourself time and space to adjust. Read up. Learn. Become familiar. When you have some calm, then go grab the kids and explain that you need surgery. Make good use of those folks around you that are willing to help with love and support. Surround yourself with what you need, and use it to your advantage so you can concentrate on making decisions, getting your affairs in order, have time to de-stress, have time to de-tox from the pain, and get yourself ready for your hysterectomy.

Use this forum to share, ask, vent, and learn. It is a support system with many successes - hope you find the support you need met.
