Worried about recovery from Hysterectomy

I had a cold knife conization, D & C & tubal on 6/10. They told me it was a breeze & nothing like my gallbladder surgery I had a few years ago. Ha! It took a good week to get the gas out & feel human. As of today I still feel drained. Work wears me out (massage therapist) I have no energy for anything. I'm now having a hysterectomy on 7/30 (7 weeks after last surgery). I would like to start walking again to get back in some shape beforehand. Is this normal? Makes me worry about recovery from hysterectomy. I see my Dr on Monday, but looking to see if others had similar issues. Thanks!!

Re: Worried about recovery from Hysterectomy

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I had a D&C and Hysteroscopy before I had my tah/bso. As I recall it did take me some time to recover from that surgery. If you feel that you should be farther along, please do give your doctor a call.

Re: Worried about recovery from Hysterectomy

I completely understand your concerns about being "recovered" from one surgery before you head into another.

I went in for what was thought to be meniscus repair on May 19. When I woke up, I was told they did a procedure called microfracture. I have spent 6 weeks on crutches with no weight allowed on my leg. Just released to get off the crutches over the next two weeks. That will leave me with a week of being off crutches before my TAH/BSO. My PT person assures me I will be strong enough and be fine with the surgery, but it does concern me.

I have to get the TAH done before August 1st, or we have to pay $4000 out of pocket due to our Insurance renewal

Rest as much as you can!!!!!
