Question about "Aunt Flow"

Does anyone know whether or not it is ok if you have your period when it is time to go in for surgery? My date is coming up next week and I can feel it is coming soon...not sure if that is ok or not? Thanks!

Question about "Aunt Flow"

Yes, it's fine! Many women here have had their hysterectomies while they were bleeding. No worries.

Best wishes to you ! The waiting is the hardest part.

Question about "Aunt Flow"

I bled from Thanksgiving through to surgery date. You should have no problems with that but I would just advise your doctor. Wishing you well.

Question about "Aunt Flow"

Thanks ladies..that does put my mind at ease. I went for my pre-admission clinic yesterday and I totally blanked out on asking that question. Spent all of last night stressing about it..was too late to go online..I was also dealing with a daughter sick with the flu..god help me I don't want to get it! Just one more thing to worry about...after all the emotions I have been going through..to get sick and then have to cancel and postpone would be horrible! Have to say tho..was doing ok until my appt. yesterday. It sort of brought everything to the forefront again. Found out that I don't have to drink anything yucky tho so that's something! I do however have to have an enema..that should be fun times! I also have to have 2 showers before I go to the hospital..and use a 'surgical sponge' both times..2 showers! What the? Oh well I'll be clean anyway! Thanks again!!!

Question about "Aunt Flow"

The morning of my surgery, Aunt Flo decided to make her appearance. One of the surgical nurses just patted my hand and said "Honey, it's about time to show your body who's boss." She was sooooooooo right.....I have taken back MY life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
