Wonder if hyster is the answer for my problems..

Hi Ladies,

After having horrible pelvic/rectal pain and pressure for a month, and undergoing the removal of a permanent cerclage I've had for 5yrs (rare case- another story), I am able to work through the day, but STILL have the horrible rectal pressure for half the day. Saw gyn yesterday.. she did a very thorough exam (both ends). Was painful but she could feel no abscess/hematoma/infection. Also did transvag. ultrasound- no abnormalities seen. Uterus was small and did not show trapped fluid. She has no idea why I am still having the "butt" pressure. She put me on my final antibiotic (have been on two)- Levaquin for 10days. If I am still having this pressure, she wants to do a hyster.

I am all for this if it will help get rid of this pressure, but I am worried I will have the hyster and not get relief. I specifically asked her about prolapse, but she said I am well supported (I have had no vaginal births). AND this all came on suddenly on Nov 3 along with the bleeding and more severe pain. Removal of the cerclage stopped all my bleeding and pelvic pain, but not the but pressure. It did hurt alot when she touched my uterus/cervix so I wonder if I could have a chronic infection or scar tissue problem. I did get infected after my ablation one year ago. Took antibiotics and pain went away, but bleeding everyday until 2.5wks ago when the cerclage was removed.

Any input?? wondering if any other women suffer from rectal pressure of unknown cause and if the hyster cured it...

Thanks!!

i would suggest you get a second or third opinion before you have a hysterectomy for rectal pressure. have you seen a gastro dr? if your exam and ultrasound were normal, you should find out a reason for the rectal pressure before having surgery. good luck!!
