14 days post op

I think I've made it over the hump - I see light at the end of the tunnel after my radical hysterectomy that was done on June 1st. I am needing less pain medication and am feeling a little stronger physically every day. The scary part for me is that I haven't grieved post-op yet. I know that there are emotions bubbling up inside of me that need to be experienced and come out, but that I have been too physically weak and in pain to let them do so.
I have my first post-op appointment with my doctor in 3 days. I am really surprised; but my sex drive is pretty strong right now. I have NO interest in having any penetration - and understand that it would be dangerous to do so. But is clitoral stimulation and orgasm safe at this point?

For some reason, it is pretty common for ladies to develop a strong sex drive shortly after surgery. However, please don't do anything before checking with your doctor. Some doctors want complete pelvic rest while others are okay with external stimulation.

As to your emotions, they will surface in time. Some ladies grieve and other don't. It is okay to feel the way you are. We are all different and deal with things in different ways. :hugs5:
