1st Day back to work

I went back to work yesterday after 6 wks of recovery and boy did the day seem to drag. I have a desk job and sitting in front of a computer for the majority of the day was no fun at all. When I did get up from my desk, I felt like an old worn down lady. No pains though, which is a good thing, just stiff.

My recovery has been pretty good and remarkable. I've resumed most of my activities and probably have done some things that I shouldn't have, but since I'm single and live alone, they had to be done by me. I won't say what I've done for some may say, you're going to regret having done that. LOL!

Thursday is bingo nite for my mom, but I didn't take her this time. I didn't think that I would be wake to pick up her @10 pm. Promised to take her to the casino for makeup of not taking her to bingo. And I was right. After doing some other tasks after work, I got home and was in the bed earlier than normal. I was sleep by 10:30 and slept all through the night. This was a first for me seeing that I'd been having bouts of insomnia from inactivity.

1st Day back to work

I know, going back to work can kind of stink at first, but give yourself some time. You're still early on in your recovery! so take time to still rest a lot & pamper yourself!! Just because you went back to work doesn't mean everything is all back to normal now! Be patient with yourself, as frustrating as that may be! Take care zanylynn

1st Day back to work

Hey....Congratulations on this huge step towards your life.

I'm a single gal, too.........it is a lot harder when major support isn't available. Hoping you've learned, as I did, to let your friends in. My recovery was a very bonding experience for me and my few friends.......and, a good lesson for me. Made me a better friend, too!

You are smart for pacing yourself. When I first went back, had to become a full-fledged Princess once I got home.....had to budget all my energy for work. Just about the time that routine was becoming unacceptable for my happiness, my body started giving me more energy to actually enjoy my personal time.

Pamper yourself, Princess....keep eating healthy. Your new-found sleepful nights will make a difference soon in the way you feel, too. Take care, and have a Princessy weekend..................s.......Deb

1st Day back to work

DCDoll, I feel for you. I had my TAH on the same day you did and just went for my 6 weeks check up today. Just went to the dr and to the grocery afterwards and I am exhausted. My check up went well. And I haven't had any problems to speak of during my recovery so far. No bledding, not much in the bowels dept and definately no gas, which is what I dreaded more than the surgery itself. Fortunately for me, I don't work but I do "my job" here at home. DH and DD assumed I was fine after a few days at home, so I've basically been on my own to. As far as my housework, like you said, if I don't do it, who will. Thankfully I got the go ahead to vacuum today, so I'm ready to roll. Just take care of yourself and keep things to a minimum and rest when you get home. One good thing about living alone, you don't have to wait on anyone and you can do things if you feel like it and when you don't, that's okay too. Best wishes to a speedy recovery.
