After surgery
Hi GG,
I also had my surgery on 16 Mar, TAH.
My doc mentioned to me on discharge that I could have vaginal bleeding about a week post-op (which would be today for both of us), this is caused by the healing of top of the vagina, where he removed the cervix.
Of course this answer only makes sense if yr cervix was removed.
I have also had problems with getting my bowels to work, and it def increases the pain, must be all the extra pressure around the internal wounds. I eventually sent my husband to buy a bottle of stool softener from the pharmacy, it worked almost instantly and the pain eased immediately. My doc did say that it takes a while for yr bowels to return to normal. I hope you can get yrs to work soon, cos it def makes the pain far worse.
Its always a good idea to give yr doc a call to put yr mind at ease.
Take care of yourself, I am lying in bed with my laptop on my bed-table and am taking it really easy.
