Anyone Had Vaginal Cuff Cauterized?

MY OB just called, I have been having major pain in my Vaginal Cuff, all of my blood and labs came back ok, my doctor said we are going to see if we need to cauterize next week. Anyone else had this done? I am scared.. Thank you.

Yes, I had it done with silver nitrate. For some they report it stings, for me I felt nothing but relief.

Oh thank you for responding. Can I ask what symptoms you were having before they cauterized? I have been having some pretty bad pain in the cuff when I sit too long or move around a lot.

I started having pain there last week after sitting in a hard chair for about 30 min. Also drove and walked more that day, too. Have been taking it very easy, ans since then it's gotten better, though slowly. Do you think you overdid it and just need to rest? I'm hoping that's the case for both of us. Have my six week doc visit on Thursday and really want a good report.

I had same thing. Silver Nitrate did the trick. My pain was like a "squeezing" type pain. Weird. This happened also when I sat in too long. Procedure uncomfortable, but not unbearable. No Anesthesia needed. the reason I had this done was due to bleeding...bright red and quite a bit after sexual relations. This did not happen any other time. Take care!

I started having very bad pain last Wednesday, I tried to go back to work too soon. I too was sitting all day, but like Kellyc, was walking around a lot more than I have been... Ended up at my ob's office in tears it hurt,like a bad pinching, extremely dizzy and fatigued. She ran tests and put me on bed rest until tomorrow, but I talked to her today and she seemed to think that cauterization was an option. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and this is pretty rough still if I move around or sit too long. Hope we don't have to have that done.. Ug. Good luck to you too KellyC!

I had it done, twice. At 6wks I was having a little more pain when I sat, especially in hard chairs. Was more pressure than pain. I was also still experience a discharge. So I called my dr. Was supposed to see him at 7wks, but he saw me then and the next week.

When he cauterized it didn't hurt but was very uncomfortabe. He also checked for infections so he swabbed way up in there. I did slowly comeup off the table. He told me he's been told he's a magician...he can make women levitate lol

Once it was over I was a little sore, but nothing bad. I felt so much better in a couple of days..bleeding completely stopped as did the pressure. At my 7th week appt he did cauterize again, but it was much quicker and completely painless.

He said I had scar tissue starting over stitches that were not dissolved yet, that's why he cauterized..he called it granulation.

Where was your pain? Mine is in the pelvic area. I go to dr yesterday. They did a sonogram lady week but didn't find anything.

Gosh. I meant I go to the dr tomorrow and the sonogram was last week. Ha
