6 Weeks Post Hysterectomy .....Slow Healing in Progress

Yes, still healing slowly but well !!! Just wanted to share what I'm experiencing within my six weeks of recovery. I'm still having a little nausea off and on, backache as well as experiencing little throbs of pain where I had my incision -even though my incision is fully closed. The type of incision I had was a vertical incision which started underneath my belly button down slightly past the bikini line.
I continue to have sensitivity on my left side so I have to be careful especially when sleeping and I cannot lay on my left side too long. After a nights sleep I can't sit straight -up and get of bed. I need to "roll myself" out of bed because my stomach muscles are little sore and delicate. I continue to wear my belly ban running little errands, walking and especially sitting in a car.
My vaginal discharge is slowly diminishing and so is the I call it "the healing smell" is going away. One of the things I notice since both my ovaries have been removed my skin is slightly dry and my hair is shedding and slowing falling out. Currently I'm taking vitamins and a friend recommended me to take Hair Infinity for my hair. At 37 yrs of age I'm officially in MENOPAUSE!!!!! For me personally, it's not that bad for now. I experience little heat warmths but I carry a little hand held fan with me in my purse and I keep a fan on me at night to keep cool while sleeping. I tried those Poise towelettes to give you a cooling sensation to cool you down but that doesn't work it only makes you smell good. I had my 6 week follow-up and everything is healing well and I will be able to return to work at the beginning of August. I'll continue to slowly gain strength by walking and not trying to overdue it. The least thing I want is a set-back!!

Good Luck to you and Speedy Recovery

Sounds good to me! Congratulations! I'd prefer a slow healing progress over a setback on any day.
