TVH w/ A&P Repair, Episiotemy ??

Sorry if this is TMI i just need to know if it's normal or if i should call the dr!. I had a TVH done w/ "alot" of A& P" reapair. I do have an episiotemy which i've had before b/c of childbirth. Of course i've been constipated even at the hospital. The nurse did an enema and suppository neither worked very well..Came home still no relief. OK here it goes... I can't squeeze my buttcheeks together very well w/out it hurting...kind of feels like somethings hanging out from it?!! Sorry if TMI!! I can sit down but very slowly i do it. I finally had a bm thanks to MOM. Has anyone experienced this or am i just weird!!! Thanks!!!

I felt odd things in that area for at least six months after surgery...hopefully it is just a reaction to the swelling you have due to the surgery. Or, perhaps you have a new hemorhoid?

You are not just weird, it's normal to feel abnormal down there, especially after everything you have had done. I had a LAVH with A&P repairs as well. I am 4+ weeks post op and can just now sit normally. That area felt full for a very long time and still does at times. With a posterior repair it's very important not to get constipated. The surgery you had is reconstructive in nature, you are swollen down there and it just takes a while for the healing to take place and things to start feeling normal again. Another thing you want to keep in mind is that it's going to be a new normal or a different kind of normal. For me, since my rectocele was repaired it's no longer difficult to have a bm from a physical standpoint because things are now properly aligned. That's definitely a new normal for me! With the bladder repairs I had done I no longer pee every 45 minutes to an hour, it's now every 2-3 hours and I don't have stress leaks anymore.

It's really important to take stool softeners, eat properly, drink liquids and do whatever you need to do for your body right now to keep from getting constipated.
