Pounding heart after hysterectomy

I kept my ovaries and am 37 but before hysterectomy my fsh was high....61 and I had menopause symptoms even on the pill.

I have been having night sweats and hot flashes. Now I am having pounding heart. Took my pulse and it is 92 so not racing. It is not palpation I have had that before. I also had panic attacks but this is not like that also.

Is this a normal menopausal thing?

Re: Pounding heart

I would contact your Dr, but I bet this is all hormonal.

If you recently stopped the pill, and had a hysterectomy, your body is probably in a little bit of shock.

Re: Pounding heart

Anxiety causes a pounding heart, not moving a lot can cause it. Also menopause can cause heart Pounding but more like heart fluttering. Are you are pain meds or a new med as these can cause it. I have problems with otc's.
,I would suggest that you see a doctor to rule out everything. Make sure to tell him now long it lasts..

Re: Pounding heart

I know it isn't panic...it feels different. And with panic my pulse gets up to 150 and with this it is 92.

Now tonight I have it again and it is after taking vicodin. I take one at night. But have never had that reaction before.

Tomorrow night I will try not taking it and if it doesn't happen then I know and if it does I will go to dr. Thanks ☺

Re: Pounding heart

I have had that with my hormonal issues, but since my surgery it has gradually went away.

It does seem to be when I am having many hot flashes.

Re: Pounding heart

I think its hormonal, especially involving the other symptoms at the same time. But never hurts to ask😊

Re: Pounding heart

I'm having the same issues, 38 and kept ovaries. My doc said that I was such a mess inside and there is a lot of trama that needs to recover that the ovaries aren't waking up and working just yet. She sent me to my PCP who gave me some meds for panic attacks and she put me on estroven for temp meno symptoms until the ovaries wake back up. Been having the heart racing, face flushing, and anxiety since I got off my heavy pain meds aftet surgery. My PCP did ekg and it was perfect so she thinks the meno symptoms are causing anxiety and the other symptoms. This is tough for sure, but if it keeps up I would contact your doc for sure as I couldn't keep dealing with it and it wasn't going away. My surgeon said it could be up to 3 months before my ovaries are fully working are she had to take endo out of one and a cyst out of the other and one was backwards and in the wrong place. Crazy what the body can do. Don't suffer through it though if it's affecting your recovery.
