How far/often should I walk?

Thank you all for your quick responses. My DH kept telling me I was expecting too much of myself, he's cute and all, but it's much more reassuring to hear it from someone who has actually been there. I did sit outside on my deck today, in my new lounge chair that we bought for my recovery.(I may bring it inside and sleep on it tonight! Still can't get comfy in my own bed.) It was so uplifting to breath fresh air and feel the sun on my skin, even if only for 30 minutes. (It's very hot out) Again, thanks for the encouragement, you gals rock!

How far/often should I walk?

Dear sonochick - please listen to your body! If you are tired and feel bad walking - don't walk! The walking around the house was all I did at 9 days. I think I made it to the end of the driveway and back sometime after that. Then at about 2 and a half weeks I made it down 3 or 4 houses - the dog couldn''t figure out what was wrong or why I was going so slowly!
Some of us just heal differently than others and it really took me a long time (like 3 months??) before I made it more than down the street and back. Just try a little bit each day, but don't push it. Remember that some princesses didn't have TAH, and I think that makes a big difference in how our recoveries go.
Hang in there and enjoy the sunshine - things WILL get better, slowly but surely.

I completely agree with everything TGIO said. I listen to my body each time I walk and if I don't feel right that day, I don't go as far. Also, I did have LAVH/BSO so maybe the recovery isn't as long as it would be for someone who had TAH. Just do what feels right for you.
