6 days post hysterectomy - Haematoma at incision site

Day 6 and my haematoma seems to be getting bigger.....looks like e little alien could pop out at any moment. I feel a lot of pulling in this area when I move and it generally just hurts. Have developed a 38.5 dg (101.3F) today. My concern is wether the haematoma is normal and also what to do about it? Do I leave it alone, massage, use arnica gel?? I don't have a post op appt until 16 Oct.

Is your doctor already aware of your hematoma? If not, and especially since you now also have fever, it's time to get in touch, as soon as possible.

Sending big hugs!

I had the same problem and then did develop an infection and now have been on antibiotics and am fine. The bruising is still there but is now going down. Get some antibiotics!

Good luck. X

Thanks Ladies

Went to the dr today and am on some antibiotics. The haematoma, who we have named Bob, will be dealt with later if needed. Looking forward to losing the fever and feeling better.
