still bleeding 4 weeks post-op
Hi, I am 4 weeks post-op after having a oopherectomy (abdomen)(sorry I am not sure what abbreviation to use). I am still bleeding after 4 weeks. Has anyone had this problem?

Are you still bleeding like you were right after your surgery? Is it brownish or bright red? Bright red bloods indicates fresh blood while the brownish colored discharge usually means it's older blood. If you're concerned, call your DR ~ they would be the best ones to tell you what's to be expected and what's considered too much.

The info I was given regarding bleeding amounts was "if it is like a normal period then it's too much" Any of you gals know what a "normal" period looks like? I've never seen one!

It is a brownish color but still like a normal period. I went to my dr and he said he did see the bleeding but everything seems to be healing up nicely. He sent me for some bloodwork and I to call the office on Monday.
