Adenomyosis Questions

HI Jamie, I am not sure if adeno has anything to do with fertility problems. and as I posted here before my adeno was not found until after my hyst 4wks ago. but I to have suffered with pregnancy issues. I never was able to have children do to 2 miscariges and 2 ectopic pregnancys. I am glad that you are feeling better. and I to have to say that even with the pain that I have had after my hyst is nothing like the pain I was in before I had the surgery. and I am getting better everyday. Take Care, Cathy

Adenomyosis Questions

Gracelyn ~ after my ablation, it did take a while to heal up, however, now that I just had the TVH, my gyno said "so sorry to have put you thru two surgeries, if I had known it was adeno before your ablation, we would have just done a TVH, there is nothing an ablation can do to help adeno".. after the ablation was when my pain got worse. I am healing up quicker from this TVH than when I had the ablation and tubal. I'm only 4 days post-op and feeling really good, I know I couldn't have said the same after my ablation and tubal. I expected to have no more bleeding after the ablation, but the period came back..lighter, but more painful. My periods used to last up to 8 weeks, it was nice having them slow down, but the pain was unbearable from the adeno. I hope you heal fast and your doc decides to just take the uterus out, it's the only way to get rid of your pain, unless you want to live on painkillers until menopause each time you have a period. Not an option for me when the doc mentioned it. Good luck thru your healing!

Adenomyosis Questions

At my dr's visit, my gyn said that he doesn't want to rush into anything. Just give the ablation some time. He said it would take a few months for the uterus to shed the remaining endometrium. I never imagined the ablation would hurt sooo bad! I told him I was still having the same pains that I had before the surgery. He told me it would take some time to see the final results. He did tell me however that if I do have adeno, the ablation would not fix the pain. My periods should become much lighter, but the pain would still be there. So now begins the "waiting game" and see what happens. The only bad thing about leaving the ovaries is sometimes they have to be removed later on. I'm 30 and have completed my family. I'm just at the point in my life to experience a "pain free" life again. I have been seeing a gynocologist since I was 11 because of problems with my periods. I'm looking forward to painfree days and throwing away all of my pads, tampons, and Pamprin!!

Adenomyosis Questions

Hi there, I just found out that I have adenomyosis after several tests. The Dr. started with a pelvic exam that showed my uterus was enlarged so he scheduled me for an ultrasound (both internal and external) which was inconclusive. The next test was an MRI which I would suggest you have done if possible because that is what showed conclusively that I was suffering with adenomyosis. MRI scans for this are fairly new but they do show results, if the test is positive and you are suffering find a Dr. that will listen to you it's your body.

Adenomyosis Questions

HI Yes I agree that the MRI is a good test. but I personally would not rely completely on the results of such a test.as I posted here earlier that I had the MRI,CT Scan, and several ultrasounds. all of which did not show that I had adeno. it was not found untill the path report came back after my hyst. so eventhough these tests are great tool to use in diagnosing a condition they are not allways able to detect certain things . but yes if your doc wants to do these tests I would at least give them a try. Take Care and good luck, Cathy

adenomyosis

i have been having pain since my early 20's but lived with it; after 10 yrs or so i had a laporscopic surgery for endo. i still had pain; the next yr, at age 37 i had laporotomy for another problem and brought in another gyn to look for endo; small amount found; doc suggested adeno 10 yrs ago but never recommended mri; after using depo provera, progesterone suppositories with progestin mini pill i went to a new top doc who told me to have mri, which showed adenomyosis; i don't know if i had it since my 20's or what, but young women can get it from what i've read; have an mri and see a great doc

Adenomyosis Questions

I have adenomyosis... not sure what its from.. It was diagnosed when I was 29. never had children or pregnancies before that.

I also had endometrial hyperplasia, though, which might be related.
