Home from Castle

I got back from Castle yesterday. All went well. I ended up having a TAH instead of a LAVH. The dr. said that my uterus was attached too high and she couldn't get it to drop - even though they used a special instrument to pull it down. Isn't adenomysis fun?!!?

I am now spending my two weeks on the couch with several family members helping me out.

The only thing that bothered me during my stay at the castle was the fact that my dr. didn't seem to comprehend that I was insulin resistant. (I am a type 2 diabetic).
She insisted that I be placed on an insulin sliding scale post op. I wasn't really awake too much the first day postop but on the second day I insisted on taking my regular diabetic meds and refused the insulin shots. My blood sugar returned to regular levels (for me). My dr did not come in the following day - instead I was discharged by her nurse practitioner. We'll see what happens when I have my postop appt. in 2 weeks.

Thank you everyone for your support and I will now be switching to the postop board.

See you on the other side,

Lori

Welcome home! Now be a good princess and remember your training: rest, drink lots of water, rest, take short walks around the house, and rest.

We’ll look for your castle story on the “Princesses Tell Their Stories” forum, and all further recovery updates on the PostOp forum.

Best wishes for a smooth, uneventful recovery.
