Decision: ablation or hyst for hyperplasia?

Just got off the phone with my doctor. Thought I had an appointment tomorrow, but she called today to save a trip. She is an old college friend so felt that was an option for her since I had just been in a month ago. Told her all my symptoms (daily headaches many of which are borderline migraine, dizziness, pelvic pain, increased appetite) and she totally agreed that it sounds like it is side effects from the Depo shot. Asked if I was bleeding and when I said no, said there were other BC options which I replied I am done trying other BC options, especially with these side effects I am having now. Way worse than the bleeding. Have tried, am guessing, around 10 different ones to varying degrees of success. So we started to talk about other options I have.

Here are the ones she recommends. Try the ablation. Should take care of the chance of hyperplasia since the lining will be gone according to her. She asked about fibroids and I said have been told I have them, but not sure how big or where. Looked on ultra sound and said it didnt say where, but they were around 2.5 cm so not large. Said it shouldnt be a huge problem. I asked if this was a guarantee that it would work and take care of the issues and she said no. No chance of children though.

Second option, hysterectomy. With history of cancer in family might be a good option and if tired of trying everything, think I got that point across, would be a guarantee. Not sure surgeon would agree, but something to talk about with them.

So, she referred me to the surgeon in the area, said much better than the GYN for these things in our area. Heard same thing and he has done some surgeries on me already for other issues so know and trust him. Said to discuss options with him and see what we decide. If the ablation would get rid if chance of children, why not this more guaranteed option?

Now when I thought I would have a decision made, still have to think and discuss. Also will be doing more research on the ablation option to make best decision. Know that this is the right thing to discuss with multiple people and doctors, but not sure what to do. Trust this surgeon, but don't have the same relationship with him that I do with my college friend doctor. Not sure what she thinks is best, but think she is trying least invasive approach now. Just want this OVER. So tired of battling this and don't want to just buy time. Have awhile before menopause so not something I can just wait for.

Anyone have ablation with history of hyperplasia? Am worried that will still have to take BC pills to make sure that stays in check and thought I read somewhere ablation is not a good option for hyperplasia treatment. Can't seem to find that article though. Any info would be appreciated.
