lots of complications now bleeding

I am almost 4 weeks out and have been hospitalized 2 times since the LSH proceedure. I was operated on with a UTI and after being released ended up back in the hospital with infection and fever. Was released again still with infection but given an antibiotic for it and then my entire digestive system shut down and i almost died. I have been home now for a week and doing pretty good til tonight and i am spotting so Im a little scared.....I have read a few replys to mom bleeding and it sounds like my journey is not over. My cervix was left behind and that could be where the prob lies. Hopeing for the best

Hi tdsigns08
Welcome to Hystersisters! I have moved you over here to the post op forum where you'll be able to find the best support for your questions.

I'm sorry to hear of the complications you've been experiencing. I hope the infection will be cleared up soon. As for the spotting, it's considered normal to have some bleeding on and off during recovery. You are right though that you could be experiencing a mini period since you still have your cervix and your ovaries. Everyone is different with this. If you need information on them there's an article about mini periods in the post op articles.

If you've been doing quite a bit you might want to try getting off your feel and doing less to see if it is happening in response to your activities in the last couple of days. I hope this won't prove to be a problem for you. If it continues you might want to call and let your dr know in case s/he wants to check it out. Let us know how you do with this.

tdesigns08 - You have had a rough ride!! I hope it is all behind you and you can now concentrate on pampering yourself to health.

I had some bleeding around 4 weeks and was told it was normal, but if it continued after two weeks to call back. The bleeding was very slight - just pink mostly unless I did too much in a day then it would get darker. It turned out that I had an infection, but I am using a vaginal gel to treat it instead of a pill. Why mess with the whole body when the gel goes to the spot that needs it! MY surgery was different from yours in that I have no cervix, though.
It seems like a little bleeding is not something to worry about. You have earned the right to pester your doctor as much as you need to though. So, call if you are at all concerned. You have been through enough and you do not need to worry unnecessarily!
Be easy on yourself. Rest please!
