Surgery soon and don't know that I am ready

Mine is Tuesday, Sept. 6.... I find myself thinking about it A LOT. I'm also more emotional now than I thought, especially reading the replies with the special things some people do. I don't know that I'm ready, but I do recommend preparation. Get the bag ready, do the pedicure, etc.... It makes me feel a little more "in control".

Mine is just a few days after yours, and it's all I can think about. I've been nesting and getting my house ready compulsively and trying to do other things to get my mind off it, but I can't help thinking about it all the time.

I pretty much wish it was tomorrow, so I could move on and think of something else. Good luck to you! You're almost there, and it's almost all done, and you'll be free.

Mine is the 8th and I'm past ready. I made my 'to-do' list last night and with it being a long weekend I hope to have most of it done. Tuesday is my last day of work so I've been tying up my loose ends there so there are no suprises when I get back. LOL.

I just hope Im not as impatient when it comes to recovering!

I was in the same boat. I had had about 4 surgeries in the past, and had never been as scared about any of them as I was about the hysterectomy. I was crying in pre-op the morning of the surgery.

Talking about it to others, as uncomfortable as that was, helped me. Prayer also helped! And I read a lot on here about how to prepare! Sounds like you're doing all the right things!

One of the things that made it hard for me to prepare, was that my pain was intermittent. When I was in pain, I would have let them perform the surgery right then and there. But when I wasn't in agony, I second-guessed myself about making the right choice!
